Pin Parvati trek is one of the most beautiful and adventures trek of the region. The 4810 mts. high Pin Parvati pass sends down the Pin and The Parvati river to the opposite sides. Starting from the Parvati valley, the trek winds along the raging Parvati river through the most spectacular landscapes, full of flowers and fossil rich rocks till the glaciated Pin Parvati pass. After crossing the pass the landscape changes dramatically and takes us to the land of Budhism “ Spiti Valley”..

After having breakfast we drive to Barsheni village. The trek starts from Barsheni village. An uphill trail winds through high hills and dry rocks. Overnight stay at camp at Khirganga (an open meadow).
The trail crosses several delightful pastures with a variety of wild flowers in the summer. camp at Tundabhoj, the view of waterfalls tumbling down the cliffs on the opposite side of the valley are impressive.
Initially you will be crossing rocks and dense vegitation. After a few tiring kilometers, the trail descends to the river bank. The next section up the valley is difficult in places, as the trail frequently skirts rockfaces which are difficult for laden porters. Camp at Thakurkhan is above the cliff section of the valley.
The trail passes a side river by a natural rock bridge. Just above this crossing, is the Pandu bridge, another natural rock bridge over the Parvati river. Then the trail ascends gradually through a series of flower meadows. Camp at a grassy camp site near the Mantalai Lake.

Our trek is now, through the boulders and scree on the Pin Parvati Glacier. It provides a full view of Parvati Valley and many high peaks. Camp at a sandy ground at the base of the Pin Parvati Pass. (The camp site is under snow until mid of July).
Trek is steep up to the Pin Parvati Pass over snow fields (You should rope up, particularly early in the season when the creavasses are hidden.)The pass provides magnificent views of snow capped mountain ranges. The desend from the pass is gradual over a snow field and then over scree. It becomes very steep at some places. Camp at a grassy land.
There is no trail for the first few kms. Walk is on loose scree and also some side streams to cross.Camp at a grassy land.
The trail is well defined today. The village of Mud can be seen beneath a huge cliff face. Enjoy a walk around Mud Village before traveling head to Kaza. Overnight stay at hotel.
After breakfast drive back to Manali via Batal and Chattru through the Chandra valley till the road joins with the main Manali – Leh Highway near Gramphu. From here it is an uphill drive of 16 km going through numerous hairpin bends to reach the mighty Rohtang pass. From the pass, drive down to Manali and witness the miracle of nature with incredulity as you pass through lush green alpine vegetation and forests of Spruce and Deodhar again. Overnight at a hotel.
