MESMERISING NORTH EAST INDIA TRIP

It's time to avail your coupon for freedom. On day 1 after landing in Guwahati we will be heading towards Kaziranga. This long drive will enchant you with its vast greenery of the Assamese landscape. The cinematic landscape with blue skies and green hills will serenade your soul. After reaching Kaziranga we will check into our hotel for the night stay.

Morning! We will be heading out for a wildlife safari in Kaziranga National Park. Home to some of the world's rarest wildlife species, Kaziranga is among the biggest and most popular National Parks in India. You can find One-horned Rhinos, Bengal Tigers, and many different animals here. Situated across the banks of the Brahmaputra River, it inhabits the world’s largest population of Indian one-horned rhinos. After completing the tour, we will head out for Shillong. Stay overnight at Shillong.

Morning! Today after breakfast we will be heading to Mawlynnong. Be ready to be amazed by the enigma that awaits you. Mawlynnong, a village nearly 80 km from Shillong has marvels that will astonish you. I am talking about a living root bridge. These bridges aren't built; they are grown with the help of the roots of the Ficus Elastica tree. The best part about Mawlynnong is the spirit of the villagers who without using any technology have bagged the prestige of being the cleanest village in Asia. Now that's a feat! Another wonder that is mind bending is the balancing of a big boulder on a small rock. This structure has remained the same against the test of time and nature. Astounded right? Me too.

We then head to Dawki, a border town near the Indo - Bangladesh border which is nearly a 34 km drive. The most sought-after attraction of this place is the Umngot river. The river is literally transparent and you can click aesthetic shots of the river with a suspension bridge over it. The Britishers built this bridge in 1932. Ah! wasn't it a wonderful day? We will stay at Mawlynnong for the night.

Today after breakfast we head towards Cherrapunjee, Cherrapunjee is a small hamlet, situated at an altitude of about 4823 feet (1484 m). Locally known as ‘SOHRA’. Cherrapunjee is located in the southern most point of Khasi hill sharing the border of Sylhet district of Bangladesh. Cherrapunjee offers a panoramic view of the hilly terrains, deep gorges and valleys with its spectacular waterfalls. It once had the record of being the wettest place on earth, with an average rainfall of about 1150 ms. However, this record has been overtaken by a nearby place Mawsynram. Today you will explore a few of the sightseeing places like Eco Park, 7 Sisters Waterfalls, Arwah Caves/Mawsmai Caves & Nohkalikai Waterfalls.

Morning ! Today start your day early and discover the magnificent Double Decker Root Bridge. It's 3500 steps one side, from the parking area at Nongriat. Climbing up & down will take approximately 4.5-5 hours. There is a

beautiful waterfall right in front of the double decker bridge, where you can relax for a while. If you want to go further, to the Rainbow waterfall, it will take another 1-2 hrs. Overnight stay at Cherrapunji.

Today we do the remaining local sightseeing at Cherrapunji and then head to Shillong. Stay at Shillong.

So it's the departure day. Today, post breakfast, we can do local sightseeing in Shillong(as per time availability) and then head to Guwahati airport to go back to our home.
